以时间顺序为话题进行描述是最为常见的一种方式了。如“The life cycle of a butterfly”这个topic，我们可以按照蝴蝶的生命周期，即卵——幼虫——蛹——蝴蝶的过程来讲述。再如“Explain how the tap works”这个topic，我们可以按照水从哪里来——怎么进到水管里——水怎样流动——怎么流出来的这个过程来介绍。用时间顺序描述时，常用firstly， second， then， finally 等等。
2、描述地理位置的变化
也属于以时间为顺序的一种。如“Describe a place with beautiful scenery”这个topic，我们描述时可以按照时间的顺序，介绍这个景点在不同时间的变化，the sceneries here is different in different seasons. I visited here in the summer last year. The weather was hot and the trees were all covered with thick green leaves， it's really cool and relaxing to go there to take a walk. However in winter maybe that'd be quite opposite…
如“The shop which I like to visit most”这个topic，我们可以按照我怎么去这个store 路线是怎么的，附近有什么怎么走这个过程来讲。
第二类 以空间为起始
以空间为起始，即按照方位来介绍，比如“The museum， art gallery or place of historical interest you would like to visit again”，我们可以根据博物馆的布局，先描述门口的摆设，然后是展厅（可以从左到右或从右到左来介绍），最后是出口。
第三类 总分结构
即先总说，再分说。如“Describe the house or the flat you are living in”这个topic，我们可以先整体性的描述下自己家的风格how many room it has等等，然后从餐厅，厨房，卧室等方面着手描述，这样就不会出现说了一段时间自己都不知道自己讲到哪里的情况了。
