澳洲包括澳大利亚吗？
严格来说，“Australia”和“Australian”这两个词的意思不包括澳州，而是指整个南半球。 举个例子： 美国是一个国家（a country），而美国的英语是American； 中国是一个国家，而中国的英文是China 那么同理， Australia是一个大陆（a continent），而the Australians就是生活在这一片大陆上的人们。 而Australian则更狭义一些，可以比喻为澳大利亚人（the Australian）所拥有的特质——乐观、独立...等等。 所以一个简单的方法可以用来区分：如果形容一个国家的时候用the+单词，那么这个词就是这个国家的民族或人民所拥有的某种特质。而如果形容一个国家时用名词所有格，那么这个词就不是这个国家的民族或人们所拥有的一种特质了。

Australians are proud that their country is a multilingual， multicultural nation with people living in cities large and small all across the land. Every year on April 26th we celebrate our cultural diversity at National Multicultural Day.
